Liver Disease and Coagulopathy

  • Jerrin Joy Pullukkara

摘要

The liver is a major metabolic organ integral to maintaining homeostasis. Approximately 1.8% of the US adult population suffers from liver disease, often resulting in secondary coagulopathy. Due to the chronic nature of this condition, deficiencies in both procoagulant and anticoagulant factors associated with liver dysfunction typically reach a new equilibrium. This chapter examines the pathology and diagnostic methods for assessing liver-related coagulopathy, emphasizing clinically oriented management over laboratory values.
