摘要

Software projects are human-oriented in nature, and humans formulate software project teams. The members of software are entrusted with the role of ensuring the success of software projects. Software development is socially oriented, which requires the software project team members to have social competencies. The social competencies of software project team members were not competent, which resulted in poor performance of software project teams. This resulted in a higher failure rate of software projects, which is alarming. The main objective of this study was to evaluate the influence of social competencies on the entire software project team’s performance. The researchers conducted a quantitative study by collecting quantitative data from the software project team members. The researchers used an online and structured questionnaire to collect quantitative data. The quantitative data was analyzed quantitatively using Smart PLS. The results indicate social competency improves the performance and work engagement of the software project team. Software team performance has led to the success of software projects.
