摘要

In the electrical discharge machining process (EDM), electrode wear rate (EWR) is one of the most important impact parameters for the workpiece surface quality. EWR is an apparent natural phenomenon process and become one of the disadvantages of EDM. This is the cause of reducing machine accuracy and shape of machined parts. Therefore, reducing EWR has great significance and needs to be studied. This study presents experimental research to determine the influence of technological parameters in powder-mixed electrical discharge machining (PMEDM) on EWR for cylindrical-shaped parts in SKD11 hardened steel. The effect of SiC nano/micro powders mixed in the dielectric liquid to EWR was investigated, thereby determining the optimum PMEDM machining mode to achieve the minimum EWR.
