Design and Demonstration of Intelligent Chain Control System for Personal Rapid Transit

摘要

There is an increased focus on the design and development of intelligent transportation system in applications to improve safety, reduce congestion, increase traffic efficiency flow, and enhance comfort for drivers and passengers. One of the recent research directions is Personal Rapid Transit (PRT) which like the small vehicle, designed to carry four or few people on an elevated guideway or at ground level. Therefore, the developers are implementing an innovative and advanced PRT system that equips multiple functions and smart automatic control. Deeply, Transportation Merging Management System is an essential part of a system, it contributes to management for PRT to avoid crash on the road. In this research, we just study about automatic merging control of PRT based on sharing information of PRT and Radio Frequency Identification technology (RFID). This technique is applied for the determination of vehicle location exactly. Moreover, Combination of communication PRT to PRT will help all data of vehicle sharing information together, thereby each vehicle knows the information of the other. In order to evaluate the quality of real automatic merging control system using the small car, a control simulation was implemented on LabVIEW. Algorithm of automatic merging control were used to simulate in the system. On the other hand, testing the real car can help us to analyze the algorithm of merging. The results of study show the demonstration of the car running around the routes and how the cars can safely pass the merging point at the whole merging area.
