A Study on the Influence of Plasma Nitriding Technology Parameters on the Working Surface Roughness of Hypoid Gears

摘要

Surface roughness is one of the important criteria to evaluate the surface quality of mechanical parts after heat treatment, especially when this is the final machining operation. This paper presents the results of the study on the influence of some plasma nitriding technology parameters on the working surface roughness of hypoid gears made of 18XГT material. A database table of experimental results has been established. Mathematical statistics and Minitab software are tools that have been used to design, calculate and process experimental data. A regression function is determined with the data tables of the calculation process and the visual charts are extracted as a basis for analyzing the influence of permeation temperature TL, permeation time \(h\) and gas permeation concentration G1 on the working surface roughness \(Ra\) of the gear. The analysis shows that the permeation temperature has the greatest influence on the surface roughness, while the permeation time and the gas permeation concentration have less influence.
