A Study on Multi-criteria Decision Making in Wire-EDM Process Using TOPSIS Method
摘要
This study introduces the findings of an inquiry on the application of the MCDM method to determine the optimal process variables in wire electrical discharge machining (Wire-EDM) of 90CrSi tool steel. The MCDM problem in the study was solved using the TOPSIS approach, and the criterion weights were found by supporting of the entropy technique. Six further input variables are selected: wire feed WF, feed speed SPD, servo voltage SV, cutting voltage VM, pulse on time ton, pulse off time toff, and work-piece cutting radius R. A total of 32 distinct experimental settings were used, along with a 27-2 design experiment. The problem with MCDM has been fixed. The work’s findings indicate that experiment No. 7, using the aforementioned input variables, is the optimum experimental setup: VM = 9 (V), Ton = 12 (s), Toff = 13 (s), SV = 25 (V), WF = 8 (mm/min), SPD = 4.5 (mm/min), and R = 9 (mm).
