摘要

Brain Tumor patients are regularly admitted into the Neurointensive Care Unit (NICU), generally in the context of neurologic deterioration or perioperative care. This chapter summarizes practical concepts that can be easily adopted in most NICUs. Although surgical intervention for brain tumors is common, each patient requires a personalized approach. Prevention and recognition of postoperative complications are critical points for the neurointensivist. Moreover, balancing a safe approach with care optimization and early discharge can be challenging. In this chapter, we summarize our institutional experience as well as the current evidence for patient management in each phase of care.
