A Multidisciplinary Approach to Neurocritical Care

This chapter provides a brief introduction into the history, need, development, and staffing of neurological intensive care units (ICUs). It describes the different models of ICUs that currently exist and their pros and cons. It also describes staffing models for physicians and advance practice providers (APPs). A special note has been made of the workflows in an ICU and the quality metrics of importance.
