A Multi-stage Encryption Technique Using Asymmetric and Various Symmetric Ciphers

摘要

Retaining privacy is essential to protect sensitive data from tampering or unauthorized access. The multi-stage encryption (MSE) technique reinforces data privacy against continual cyber-attacks by incorporating multiple encryption techniques consecutively. For this purpose, this paper proposes an MSE technique that embodies asymmetric, chaotic, and substitution ciphers together. Here, the first one uses a public key, but the later ones rely on a dynamic and an apathetic shared key, respectively. Thus, the plain data is (i) first reformed into the asymmetric cipher, (ii) then converted into the chaotic cipher, and (iii) further transformed into the substitution cipher, respectively. As a result, the designed MSE technique is proficient enough to protect text, images, etc., forms of data against different security attacks by enhancing the confusion level. Various experimental results, security analyses, comparisons with existing works, etc., prove the efficacy of the designed technique.
