  • Karolina Zmitrowicz

摘要

Proper planning is one of the key factors for the success of any initiative. Before diving into project work, let’s plan it—in the right way and with sufficient level of detail. This way, we’ll avoid common project errors. This chapter focuses on planning. Readers will learn best practices for planning business analysis work and the risks associated with inadequate planning—and how to avoid these risks. Additionally, readers will become acquainted with a framework for planning analytical work developed by the author, which will enable planning in a way that truly delivers business value. The chapter also addresses the aspect of planning stakeholder engagement. Readers will understand why building proper relationships with stakeholders and engaging them is crucial for the success of an analytical project. They will also learn the basic principles of effective stakeholder management. Part of planning analysis activities is planning information architecture—an aspect often overlooked in many projects. Yet, in projects, we create and utilize vast amounts of information—these should be managed properly. Therefore, we will present the basic principles and practices of developing information architecture, starting from establishing the proper structure of requirements. The chapter also includes a case study illustrating the assumptions and results of the business analysis planning process for a selected project area.
