Mesoscopic Patterns as Interfaces for Complex Systems Analysis

Complex systems science approach is characterized by the consideration that the phenomena under study are strongly interconnected entities, composed of many levels and subjected to reciprocal influences. Given that this topological arrangement of physical entities incorporates biological entities, we argue that the investigation of a given object, which belongs to and is itself a network in a given layer, intrinsically includes a lower level and an upper level with which is intertwined. The choice of the proper level of investigation will constitute the interface level where information about upper and lower levels is comprised, thus considering it as a correlation level.
