Adoption of Explainable Artificial Intelligence, to Protect Key Decision Processes from Information Manipulations and Disorders (Work in Progress)

摘要

Information security, applied to both systems and cognition, is a priority for states and private actors alike. Artificial Intelligence (AI) has the potential to be a game-changer in protecting autonomous critical information infrastructure, provided that AI systems are properly developed and adopted by users. This paper focuses on the early stages of developing a future AI system to prevent organizations from acute disinformation phenomena that could flaw or freeze critical decision-making processes of public authorities, with potentially catastrophic consequences. As such, it analyzes the state of the art of explainable AI (XAI) which can enhance users’ trust in cybersecurity and the conditions necessary to ensure broad and long-term adoption of these systems by individuals and the society at large in the light of technology acceptability conceptual frameworks, especially UTAUT model. The central goal is to develop these systems in the light of the conceptual framework of technology acceptability and adoption, with a view to developing an acceptable and ethical XAI, people are willing to accept to interact with. This paper is the preliminary study to qualitative research using semi directed interview grid aiming at evaluating the technology’s acceptability on a sample of future users.
