Mastering the Science of Training Program Development
摘要
In this chapter, we delve into the fascinating world of prescribing therapeutic exercise through the ATR model in the clinical setting. The focus is on the treatment of motor and non-motor signs and symptoms, which change significantly at each stage of pathology, considering the individual characteristics of each patient and their environment. Key points addressed include the proposal of a training plan based on the ATR model, the principles of block periodization, different training directions, as well as the expected effects of such a practice. Specific training levels for each ATR cycle, levels of temporal organization, and the basic structure of planning are explored. Finally, we provide access to an Excel format containing formulas and concrete examples of how to implement ATR model-based planning in therapeutic exercise, with a special focus on patients with Parkinson’s disease. This practical resource provides an invaluable tool for healthcare professionals interested in optimizing the prescription of therapeutic exercise in an effective and personalized manner.
