The chapter analyzes the two most influential factors affecting the quality of life and safety of patients with neurodegenerative diseases, such as Parkinson’s, when planning and prescribing therapeutic exercise as a treatment. Key considerations include pharmacological interactions and deficits in dynamic and static stability. The focus is on understanding the side effects of Parkinson’s pharmacotherapy and the necessary precautions when designing exercise programs. It proposes exercises to improve static and dynamic stability, as well as postural alignment and axial muscle tone. The chapter discusses the significance of evaluating and treating stability deficits. The expected outcomes of this chapter are the ability to identify the side effects of pharmacotherapy in Parkinson’s patients and to comprehend the impact of stability deficits on morbidity and mortality due to the risk of falls. A guide with therapeutic exercises is provided to improve static stability, anticipatory responses, and postural adjustments during walking. The guide addresses alterations in postural alignment and axial muscle tone. Additionally, the chapter emphasizes the importance of posture evaluation protocols in both standing and sitting positions. Practical examples are offered to reduce muscle hypotonia and enhance stability in various situations.
