摘要

According to the 2022 Digital Quality of Life, survey conducted by Surfshark, users from countries such as the UK and the US are sceptical about consumer IoT devices, with 63% of participants saying they find smart devices invasive in their collection of data and 28% of participants said they would not own a smart device due to security concerns. In the same year, over 900 US citizens were surveyed about how they feel about smart home devices, and 73% of the participants had concerns about smart home devices. The concerns are privacy, spying and monitoring, security, targeted marketing, and device hacking [1]. This paper outlines a birds-eye view of a framework intended to allow personal information collected by smart home devices to be stored in the control of the information owner instead of the service provider. With a specific focus on the Smart Contractual Layer, which is responsible for data access control.
