Optimizing Big Data Search Performance: A Comparative Study of Manticore and MySQL in A7pro Digital Asset Management System

In the context of Layout International projects, A7pro serves as a digital asset management system for tracking, controlling, disseminating, and archiving digital assets. Managing vast databases with complex metadata poses a significant challenge, especially in the realm of big data. This research paper delves into the performance of A7pro’s full-text search functionality by conducting an in-depth analysis of “Manticore,” a primary technology in big data indexation and search optimization. The study compares data retrieval times between MySQL and Manticore, revealing substantial improvements in search query execution. The results highlight Manticore’s remarkable speed, showcasing query times of less than 0.01 s, as opposed to MySQL’s 30 s for certain queries. The implementation of Manticore in A7pro resulted in a groundbreaking enhancement, making data processing more than 3000 times faster. This research demonstrates the innovative potential of search engine applications in MySQL, offering a transformative technique to accelerate query execution in large datasets. .
