Managing Actions Through Incentives, Motives, and Abilities

This paper proposes that there are four variables for every action, three independent variables: (Incentive, Motive, Ability), and one dependent variable: (Action). These four variables are proposed to be components of all actions performed by individuals, organizations, or nations, and can be referred to as Life Movement Variables. The paper proposes that incentives, motives, and abilities are independent variables in every action, and that every action must have these variables to take place. The paper assumes that incentives interact with motives to perform an action if the ability to perform the action is available. The paper assumes that actions do not happen in vacuum, and cannot be separated from their incentives, motives, and abilities of individuals, organizations, or nations. It also assumes that the existence of any of the independent variables alone is not enough, and that incentives, motives, and abilities must exist together for an action to take place. The four variables are placed together in a proposed Life Movement Equation, and mathematical examples were used to explain their values. Data of a hypothetical example was also used to clarify the proposed arguments. Findings of this paper clearly shows that actions of individuals, organizations, or nations can be managed by properly managing the independent variables (incentives, motives, and abilities) of these actions.
