摘要

Lockdown acted as a preventive measure to control air pollution, improving the quality in most of the countries. A number of reports from various parts of the globe are available, where evidence of improved air quality is presented. Bahrain is one of the Small Island Developing States (SIDS) where the same measures were observed. The size of the country and its geographical location and stable/unstable air are important factors to be considered for its air quality. In this study an overview of PM2.5 over a period of three years 2019–2021 for first eight months (January through august) is presented. Meteorological condition and effect of lockdown is explored in detail which have affected the air quality in a healthy manner. The study helps to understand the real fate of factors which control the air quality in countries like Bahrain with less industrial installation. Lockdown during COVID-19 is a good lesson for policymakers towards air quality control.
