Applying International Valuation Standards to Valuate Non-current Assets and Their Impact on the Financial Reporting Quality to Achieve Business Sustainability

This research analyzes the impact of applying international valuation standards on the financial reporting quality to achieve business sustainability. The research results were based on data analysis collected by distributing questionnaires to 81 academics specialized in accounting and finance. The research aims to explore the extent of the impact of applying international valuation standards in enhancing the transparency and accuracy of financial statements provided by companies to ensure business sustainability. The results of the research showed that there is a statistically significant impact of applying these standards on the financial reporting quality by increasing the accuracy and clarity in the provision of financial information, which contributes to enhancing the confidence of investors and other concerned parties and, thus, business sustainability. The research emphasizes the importance of international valuation standards as an essential tool for achieving consistency and objectivity in preparing financial reports by delving into the origins of these standards, their concept, their importance, and how to valuate non-current assets. After the research, it was confirmed that applying international valuation standards can play a fundamental role in raising the level of transparency and credibility in financial reports, and this, in turn, supports the soundness of economic systems, enhances the efficiency of financial markets at the global level, and contributes to the sustainability of companies’ businesses.
