Edge Computing Security: Overview and Challenges
摘要
The revolutionary paradigm known as the Internet of Things (IoT) connects the virtual and physical worlds. IoT applications are also becoming more and more demanding in terms of bandwidth, lag time, and security. The proposed approach to meet the security needs between IoT devices and Edge computing continues to raise concerns. However, there are so many IoT devices and data flow monitoring is so difficult, edge computing confronts a lot of difficulties when dealing with heterogeneous IoT devices under higher risks. Whereas EC provides many advantages, such as ensuring the confidentiality of user data, it still struggles with security issues, because edge computing (EC) serves as a vital bridge between cloud computing and Internet of Things (IoT) devices, which raises the challenges and obligations of EC. We present several studies on edge computing architectures and their associated security concerns. These studies illustrate the techniques used to mitigate these concerns. Furthermore, we aim to discuss the different security challenges faced by IoT devices and edge computing. We will also explore techniques that can mitigate security threats in edge architecture. In conclusion, we showcase the current approaches and resolutions for these problems and offer our suggestions.
