Internet technologies and applications are increasingly in common use where businesses and individuals can do almost everything through electronic platforms. The objective of this article is to study the effect of e-commerce on the sustainability of Small and Medium Enterprises (SMEs). It analyzes the performance, internal process, customer base, digital marketing and investigates the benefits taken by SMEs when using e-commerce technology. The article highlights how e-commerce adoption can improve SMEs’ market reach, income streams, and competitiveness. Moreover, understanding the impact of e-commerce on SME sustainability is crucial for strong economies. The article gathered information from several literature reviews to reach to the significances of adopting internet technologies in SMEs. The findings showed that e-commerce had a positive impact on SMEs sustainability. Furthermore, it was found that e-commerce adoption had a positive impact on a firm’s performance, internal process, customer base and marketing. Managers can learn from the article by deepening their understanding of the implications, and benefits associated with the widespread use of e-commerce. It can support stakeholders, including businesses, consumers, policymakers, and technology providers, in making informed decisions and shaping the future development of e-commerce.
