Enhancing Resilience and Digital Transformation in the Healthcare Supply Chain: An Exploratory Study in Emerging Economies

The healthcare sector in emerging economies faces numerous challenges in ensuring a robust and efficient supply chain. This study aims to explore the development of resilience and the impact of digitalization on the healthcare supply chain in these economies. Through an exploratory approach, this research investigates the key factors influencing the resilience of the healthcare supply chain and examines the role of digital technologies in driving its transformation. The study employs qualitative methods, such as interviews and case studies, to gather data from healthcare organizations operating in emerging economies. The findings of this study shed light on the crucial elements that contribute to the resilience of the healthcare supply chain, including strategic planning, collaboration among stakeholders, and effective risk management. Additionally, the research identifies various digital technologies and tools that enhance supply chain visibility, interoperability, and agility. Overall, this study contributes to the existing literature by providing insights into the interplay between resilience development and digitalization in emerging economies' healthcare supply chains. The findings can inform policymakers, healthcare practitioners, and supply chain managers in designing strategies to improve supply chain performance and adaptability, ultimately leading to better healthcare outcomes in these economies.
