Familial Endocrine Syndromes

Endocrine tumors can occur within any endocrine gland, and these are most commonly sporadic events without a discernible germline mutation. Less commonly, endocrine tumors can occur within the context of a tumor-predisposition syndrome. This chapter will provide an overview on the most common familial syndromes that predispose to the development of various endocrine tumors.
