Evaluation of Water Quality Using Soft Computing Techniques
摘要
Water plays a very important role in our daily lives as it is used in various purposes. The quality of water is a concern due to its usage for drinking, cleaning, and other daily purposes. There are different parameters, such as pH, temperature, dissolved oxygen, salinity, nitrogen, phosphorous, etc., on which the quality of water depends. Industrial processes, irrigation, chemical, and other wastes pollute the water resources and hence affect the water management services. Quality water is a basic need for our health and our lives, and it is required to protect our water resources and further better assessment of water quality. Different methods and techniques are used for assessing water quality. In this work, the different parameters are analyzed with respect to their importance and role in the assessment of water quality. Then different soft computing techniques such as neural networks and fuzzy interface systems are used to predict water quality indexes by taking the most affecting parameters as input to the network.
