Exploratory Data Analysis of Groundwater Physio-chemical Parameters in R Software Program: A Case Study from Jammu Himalayas, India

Water as an essential natural resource vital for sustaining life, plays a pivotal role in the socioeconomic advancement of nations. Its quality is paramount, influencing its suitability for human consumption, agricultural irrigation, and industrial processes. Groundwater, among the myriad available water sources, serves as a crucial reservoir for drinking, household use, and agricultural activities. The protection of groundwater from the dangers of agricultural and industrial pollution is imperative to preserve ecological balance, safeguard public health, and ensure the integrity of drinking water sources. This study offers a comprehensive examination of groundwater samples collected from the Jammu Himalayan region, presenting an exploratory data analysis of several physiological parameters outlined in the Groundwater Directive (GWD). These parameters include fluoride, iron, nitrate, pH, total hardness, calcium, chloride, magnesium, bicarbonate, sodium, sulfate, potassium, and total dissolved solids present in the samples. The discussion covers the utilization of latest R packages, mentioning the codes employed for generating plots. The analytical insights gained from this study are relevant and applicability across diverse fields beyond groundwater analysis.
