摘要

Liquid, gaseous, and solid wastes can be generated from industries in terms of their physical forms. These waste forms appear as pollutants according to the studies carried out on various dyes where industrial activity occurs. When these wastes are not disposed of in accordance with suitable technical and hygienic conditions, they cause air, water and soil pollution. One of the most destructive effects of industrial waste on the environment is water pollution. Wastewater originating from plastic, paper and especially textile industries is polluted by various types of toxic substances like dyes and heavy metals. For this reason, it is important to develop suitable and economic solutions to prevent water pollution caused by industrialization worldwide, which is one of the most important problems of our era. In general, chemical wastewater treatment is effectively implemented today. Membrane technology has become popular in recent years due to its various benefits for the industry. Studies continue in various fields by using liquid membrane technology, which is one of the membrane methods. This chapter will explain the technology of liquid membranes and bulk liquid membranes, together with existing technologies for removing industrial pollutants from wastewater. In addition, information about the validity, efficiency, advantages and disadvantages of different methods will be given.
