Well-Being Inequality

This chapter develops a two-step approach to the problem of measuring inequality in a society. In the first step, one obtains a unidimensional distribution of individual well-being using the framework developed in Chap. 6 , and, in the second step, a univariate inequality index is applied to the distribution of individual well-being obtained earlier to get a well-being inequality measure for the society.
