摘要

The novel coronavirus disease 2 (SARS-CoV-2) 2019 (COVID-19) virus has had a dramatic impact worldwide. Within pediatric neuro-oncology patients, there are low reported rates of COVID-19 infection; however, standard oncology care delivery has been impacted significantly from hospital shortages to travel restrictions to increased caregiver burden. In addition, delayed presentation to hospital and delayed diagnosis of CNS tumors in children has been reported. Furthermore, clinical research has also been changed through the pandemic. More time is needed to appreciate the full impact and potential long-term consequences. As the COVID-19 outbreak subsides, it will be imperative that pandemic recovery include a focus on restoring access to high levels of cancer care for all pediatric patients and support for their families through treatment.
