Quality of Life
摘要
This chapter discusses the impact of quality of life (QoL) in children diagnosed with cancer, specifically those diagnosed with central nervous system (CNS) tumors. The theme of quality of life is discussed, as well as its importance in pediatric brain tumor patients. This can vary depending on the age, diagnosis, and the treatment received. Current research and the effects of surgery, radiation therapy, and chemotherapy are discussed. The concept of QoL is discussed along with its different components. The main instruments for measuring QoL in this population are also described. Standardized QoL assessment and early treatment of its psychological and social dimensions could promote better long-term adaptation and optimize QoL.
