Displaced Femoral Neck Fractures

The displaced femoral neck fracture is a high risk injury due to the energy and the tissue damage that occurs. Younger patients are at high risk of avascular necrosis so the reduction and stabilization of the fracture should proceed urgently. Older patients have higher risks of healing complications and in many cases are better treated with hip replacement surgery at the time of the injury.
