Serious Game Design for Elderly People Based on Their Interests and Motivations
摘要
In this study, we propose to design and test a serious game for older adults, taking into consideration their interests and motivations, with the objective of promoting adherence to new technologies and their subsequent use for recreational and/or therapeutic purposes. To achieve this, we conducted a study and literature analysis in the area of persuasive psychology and developed a survey for 41 older adults to determine their interests and preferences. Subsequently, the game was tested with 17 volunteers, and the results were analyzed in relation to the metrics designed for the game itself. Additionally, an observation log was kept, and finally, a satisfaction survey was administered to the users. The obtained results indicate that the players enjoyed the game, remained motivated throughout the testing, and expressed their willingness to play it again in the future.
