FollowING: A Cardiovascular Healthcare Oriented Device

The great advances in technology and medicine have increased people’s life expectancy, reaching ever greater longevity from generation to generation. However, cardiovascular (CV) diseases continue to be the leading cause of death in recent years. This situation highlights the need for devices that can monitor patients who are at a higher risk of developing coronary diseases. A remote system capable of efficiently and simply carry out such monitoring, specifically targeted towards elderly patients, could be extremely useful in the early detection of potential pathologies associated with cardiac conditions. Under this premise, the aim of this work was to design a device that meets the aforementioned requirements, placing emphasis not only on acquiring various parameters of interest but also on enabling a comprehensive follow-up approach that focuses on CV healthcare.
