摘要

As a minimally invasive surgery, Percutaneous Discoplasty has shown good results in adult patients over 65 years old. Pathologies such as osteoarthritis, cause deformity, instability, compression of nerve terminals and degeneration of the intervertebral disc mainly at the lumbar spine. This work aims to describe the results obtained from modeling a complete lumbar spine (L1-5) under different conditions of intervertebral discs of polymethylmethacrylate as a result of Percutaneous Discoplasty. For this, the adopted methodology was purely computational and by means of the finite element method, biomechanical changes and parameters such as range of motion, L1-5 stiffness and sensitivity were analyzed in each particular case according to the volume of polymethylmethacrylate injected.
