Design of Oral Muscle Training Device for Infants and Toddlers in Early Language Development Period

Currently, language development disorders in children have attracted much attention. For infants and toddlers in the early language development period, oral muscle training has become an important intervention. During this critical period of growth, parental-led training is crucial for promoting the coordination of children's oral muscles, accurate pronunciation, and improvement of language expression. Therefore, this study aims to explore the behavior of infants and toddlers and their parents in language training, and propose a solution for oral muscle training combining interest-based learning - motivating children's breathing training through music and painting creation. This study explores the challenges and needs faced by children's families in language development through methods such as user observation and interviews, analyzes the pain points of users in the training process, and ultimately designs an oral muscle training device based on interest-based learning. Finally, the researchers developed a prototype of the device and recruited 5 groups of children and parents to test the training, evaluating the accuracy of children's vocalization before and after training, as well as their emotional changes during the process. The results indicate that the oral muscle training device, as a fun tool, can provide children with easy and effective family oral muscle training. This research not only provides new ideas and methods for solving children's language development issues, but also provides important reference for the future development and optimization of oral muscle training.
