A Review on Internet of Things (IoT): Parkinson’s Disease Monitoring Device

摘要

The world is changing over time and is growing rapidly with various kinds of transformations while people are facing a lot of problems in their day-to-day life. The most common problem faced by people lies in healthcare sector. The Indian population statistics clearly states that the people of India lead a life up to the average age of 60 and then it is impossible to lead a life without any health issue. Not only from India, but also the people from various countries suffer with a lot of various ailments. One of the most common problems is tremor, due to tremor people are not able to carry out their daily routine. This happens because of nerve cell damage in the brain and it drops in dopamine levels, leading to symptoms of Parkinson’s. Parkinson’s is a type of disease that occurs due to the damage of the CNS and affects the action of a person or movement of a person and it leads to tremors. In this world millions of people are affected by this disease. When people are affected by Parkinson’s disease, they have difficulties to do any kind of work with proper instructions because of tremors hence the individual needs an assistance from other persons to do their work. When the Parkinson’s disease gets developed it reaches the final stage that makes an individual suffer badly. It is impossible to pay attention to watch Parkinson’s patient throughout a day. When the patient reaches a final stage, one really needs a support and at the same time there will be a need to be motivated to recuperate from the disease. However, one has to monitor the patient through Internet of Things (IoT) assisted device. In this paper the devices for the tremors that are invented for Parkinson’s disease is reviewed explicitly. In recent years IoT has made a technical revolution around the people by introducing user friendly devices it makes people highly comfortable to do their daily routine within a less time. It also makes the user to do the work faster and easier. The IoT is also advantaged in healthcare, industrial sector, small scale industries etc., Furthermore, this paper reviews on Parkinson’s disease and IoT device usage in health care and also current developments in IoT assisted healthcare devices in real-time.
