Optimal Charging in Smart Grids: Discrete-Time Optimization Model for Aperiodic Scheduling

Since the charging processesCharging- process of the electric vehicles (EVs) significantly impact the grid due to the high power requests involved, it is necessary to develop optimal schedulingScheduling problems to determine the best solution for the recharge of these new actors in the grid network. This chapter presents an optimization modelModeloptimization - for the charging schedulingScheduling of some EVs. This model is deterministic, nonlinear, and has continuous and binary variables, and it is based on forecasting for demands and renewableRenewables power availability. Then the model is applied to a case study concerning a smart gridSmart Grid (SG).
