Process Optimization in the Healthcare Sector Through the Use of AI-Based ECG Analyzis
摘要
The e-prescription continues to gain ground in Germany. Since July 1, 2023, the use of the e-prescription has become even more versatile and insured persons are able to redeem the prescription using their electronic health card. The consequences are more convenience for patients and fewer trips to the doctor’s office. This eliminates the need for manual signatures, and follow-up prescriptions can be issued without the need for another visit to the doctor’s office. This also optimizes and improves the day-to-day work in pharmacies. The e-prescription is just one example of the increasing digitization in healthcare. Artificial intelligence (AI) is improving patient care, particularly in the areas of cancer diagnosis and early detection of heart disease. Digitization can also be understood as a way of optimizing processes. It helps to improve processes in a company (or in this case in the healthcare system or hospital) in such a way that workflows are optimized, quality is increased, and errors are reduced. In the following, we will explain the basics of a process and process management as well as digitalization as a possibility for process improvement. There will always be a link to healthcare and the healthcare industry. Artificial intelligence will play a major role in this context by demonstrating that AI is already being used in healthcare for imaging and patient self-monitoring. In particular, the integrative development of an AI-based ECG analysis will be presented, illustrating the added value of such an innovation in cardiology and how it can concretely improve processes.
