Codesys and TIA Portal as a Platform for the Virtual Commissioning of a Multivariable Control System

The purpose of this work is to develop a control test verification system for a process before its virtual start-up, this process is called virtual commissioning. Currently, industrial platforms offer the programming of their devices using several languages. Through this work, the control of a multivariable system is designed, and a virtual start-up is implemented in both TIA Portal and Codesys, analyzing the advantages and disadvantages of both work environments. The first chapter explains reasons for developing this type of systems, the importance at the level of automation projects and the way in which the problem will be faced. The second chapter identifies the system model, details the development methodology, and studied techniques used for the control system to be implemented. The third chapter presents the results of the simulations developed in Matlab Simulink and TIA Portal, Codesys, verifying the control of the system using PID blocks and the implementation of a feedforward controller. Additionally, multivariable control is verified using the library tools LSim in TIA Portal and OSCAT in Codesys, the data is analyzed with an interface in LabVIEW through communication with the OPC server and TIA Portal.
