Capturing Decision Making in eCommerce Metaverse

摘要

CAMT MetaEd is a metaverse of the College of Art Media and Technology (CAMT). The development team intends to expand the metaverse in many directions. In version 2, the team created a concert where the audience can participate in a live concert and listen to live music in the CAMT metaverse. The challenge appears when the requirement of selling the product has arrived. The upcoming version of CAMT metaverse will feature eCommerce in the metaverse. Rather than traditional eCommerce, the eCommerce Metaverse offers users different virtual shopping experiences. Goal: The purpose of this study is to gather potential eCommerce Metaverse decision-making from practitioners’ perspectives. Data and Methods: Data is derived from grey literature. The Ground Truth (GT) theory was the fundamental methodology we employed. We encoded our findings using UML-based modeling. The modeling is then validated by a domain expert. Results: UML reflects the ground truth of decision-making associated with eCommerce metaverse, including decisions, decision options, and their relationships. Conclusion: We reviewed a large amount of grey literature and introduced four major challenges to the eCommerce metaverse, which are virtual product design, immersive experience, secure transaction, and trust and safety.
