Recently, the vacuum-assisted closure (VAC) system has been a game changer in acute and chronic wound treatment with excellent outcomes in all patients. This therapy has allowed plastic surgeons to successfully treat patients whose wounds are of the complicated type. In this chapter, we will focus on the key concepts of VAC therapy, which are the most commonly asked and assessed in plastic surgery attendings and among senior residents.
