摘要

Congenital facial palsy is a rare condition that affects the muscles of the face and is present at birth. It can cause a variety of problems for newborns, such as difficulty nursing and incomplete closure of the eyes. If the condition does not resolve, it can have long-term impacts on a child’s speech, capability to express emotions, and ability to chew. The prognosis and treatment for this condition depend on the underlying cause. In this chapter, we will explore the various causes of congenital facial palsy, diagnostic criteria, and treatment options.
