The goals of pharyngoesophageal and voice reconstruction are to restore alimentary continuity, PO intake, intelligible speech, and provide soft tissue coverage of critical structures of the neck. These are complex defects, and while several local and regional reconstructive options exist, microvascular reconstruction has become the primary reconstructive modality in recent years.
