Fundamentals of Panfacial Fractures
摘要
Panfacial fractures are always a challenge in terms of diagnosis and treatment, as well as the need for the participation of other specialties since these injuries are usually produced by high-energy mechanisms. The importance of primary care based on the ATLS protocol cannot be overemphasized. As for facial injuries, in some cases, depending on the overall patient’s condition and the severity and combination of injuries, initial care may involve only the repair of soft tissues by suturing them, since the definitive treatment is deferred until the patient is in a condition to undergo a complex procedure with a lengthy surgical time. It should also be kept in mind that, due to the complexity of the injuries, some patients may require further complementary treatments.
