摘要

Patients with cleft lip and palate will go a long way together with a multidisciplinary team from birth to adulthood. Presurgical Infant orthopedics (PSIO) is a fundamental part of protocols for patients with unilateral and bilateral cleft lip and palate and has been used for many years. The objectives of PSIO are oriented to reducing cleft width, improving the results of reconstructive surgery, among others. Almost 70 years after its first description, presurgical orthopedics (PSIO) remains a controversial subject. This chapter aims to show different approaches to the presurgical and postsurgical management of cleft patients and collaboration between professionals to get better results.
