Fundamentals of Nutritional Support in Plastic Surgery

The purpose of this chapter is to provide an overall review of a plastic surgery-oriented preoperative evaluation of the nutritional status as well as evidence-based approach suggestions for this evaluation process. This chapter includes potential supplements that might impact patients' prognosis, including benefiting the wound healing process, lowering infection rates, and impacting postsurgical hospitalization stays.
