Fundamentals of Thermal Burns

Burns are a physical injury or traumatism caused by the transfer of energy either by fire, mechanical, electrical, chemical, or radiation as well as the systemic inflammatory response that seeks to stop and repair that damage. In recent years, this definition has been expanded to include the psychological and economic impact that accompanies the patient, their families, and society both acutely and chronically.
