摘要

Brachial plexus injury (BPI) is a very challenging field for reconstructive microsurgeons. It is a devastating injury and causes the upper limb dysfunction. The approach to this disease needs to have the correct diagnosis, understand the complex regional anatomy, the choice of the different surgical methods, all kinds of microsurgical techniques, and aggressive rehabilitation. Only the combination of the aforementioned factors can achieve a good outcome. In Chang-Gung Memorial Hospital, Linkou Medical Center, Taiwan, led by Professor David Chwei-Chin Chuang, we have already had over 2500 cases of experience in this field since 1985. Hereby we share our strategies in this challenging field.
