摘要

Nervous compression syndromes of the upper extremity have a marked prevalence worldwide. The condition is mainly due to nerve damage caused by acute or chronic extrinsic compression, generating reversible and irreversible histopathological changes according to time and the degree of axonal or demyelinating damage. The diagnosis is primarily clinical, and its treatment is based on the severity of the symptoms. Due to its high prevalence, it is crucial that every plastic/hand surgeon knows in detail the associated risk factors, clinical features, diagnostic approach, and timely treatment. This chapter will attempt to provide a concise overview of nervous compression syndromes of the upper Extremity.
