The management of nail bed injuries requires an adequate knowledge of the anatomy of the nail bed. Optimal healing and prevention of late defects are ensured by proper management of these injuries. Following reading this chapter, the reader will be able to identify a nail bed injury, classify it, and determine the most appropriate plan of treatment.
