Fundamentals of Adult Lower Extremity Reconstruction
摘要
Reconstruction of the lower extremity represents a frequent cause for consultation with the plastic surgeon and microsurgeon. Lower extremity defects are frequently the results of high-energy trauma, oncological resection, chronic wounds, among others. The goals of every limb salvage must be focused on improving function and quality of life through a long-lasting durable skin covering. The approach and treatment must follow a standardized sequence in order to provide comprehensive treatment in an individualized manner. This chapter will attempt to present an accurate overview of lower extremity reconstruction.
